On Monday, June 29, 2026, the United States Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 decision to uphold existing Mississippi election laws, allowing mail ballots that are postmarked by Election Day to be counted if they arrive within five business days after the election. At present, nothing has changed for voters in Michigan. Our rules around counting ballots postmarked on Election Day stay the same.
